This collection of java applets was designed to compose music from nature-based sound elements. The sounds were recorded in different settings including the beach, the hinterland, urban settings, a waterfall and coastal rock platforms.
Loading take a short while.
Each sound is a very short selection from the given setting and loops endlessly. The sounds are turned on with a mouse click and turned off with another click. The buttons change their visual appearance when turned on and off. In this way rhythms are generated by each button and by combining them at different intervals, nature music can be generated. This may include turning on or off sounds according to the effects you produce.
With one exception, waterfall, the bottom right button turns off all sounds. Please do this before exiting the programme or the sounds will continue until the browser is exited
The principle of nature music was used to develop the sound tracks for dotAtelier videos in the nature music collection, but these are not interactive.
